About Us

The original Cars & Chai gentlemen have a vision where the passion of the automobile is to be celebrated, whilst being a conduit for needy causes of all people of all faiths, and sustained positivity for this, and subsequent generations.

Cars & Chai was initiated by a core group of Muslim gentlemen in New Jersey, who share the global passion of the automobile.

In doing so, the endearing spirit created by public events is to bring visiting children and adults closer to their aspirations, and experience the excitement of the automotive related sites and sounds. Additionally, each event and potential subsequent ride is to raise money for the ever growing need of charitable causes. Any proceeds collected would contribute to an announced, designated, and established philanthropic cause.

One of our founding members, Mubasher Parvez 1970-2020, was the inspiration behind Cars & Chai.

A Yale graduate and a President of a Fortune Fifty company in NYC, Mubasher was here for a reason: His legacy, memories, passion, the pursuit of excellence, and who also was a loud advocate for our daughters strength in presence, education, independence, and security.

Mubasher was in very simple terms, a quality individual who greeted us with a genuine smile we have very rarely seen. Someone successful, humble, and inspiring in nature.

Mubasher always encouraged people to succeed to improve themselves and their surroundings, and also espoused professionalism with dialogue, while showing empathy. A fervent believer in helping others with words of wisdom, style, and grace.

He left behind four amazing children, a wife, a mother, a brother, a sister, and many friends who also miss him. We continue to pray that we will soon enough reunite, InshAllah.

In memory of Mubasher, Cars & Chai collaborated with Tudor watches to create 50 very special watches.

Mo Iqbal

Cars & Chai Dallas, Co-Chair

Mo, like a lot of you, became interested in cars and all things mechanical at a young age.  When he was young, at the age of 7, he was already building model cars, computers, and airplanes and reading car magazines.

His first car at the age 15 was a ‘1999 Toyota Camry that was immediately supped up with wheels, a sound system, rims, and a body kit.  The Camry was eventually replaced with a 2007 Nissan 350z convertible that was famous in the community as the only 350z with “Lambo Doors”.

Those were the “Happy Days” back in Dallas, when Mo could be found out in the garage late at night tweaking with cars getting aggravated while his friend Sammy was the one actually helping him do the mechanical work on the cars. (Okay, technically Sammy was the one doing all the work while Mo was there keeping him company.)

His first Lamborghini was a 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Since that time Mo has an Lamborghini Aventador, Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder, Ferrari 458, Nissan GTR, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Porsche 911 GT3RS and a few other fun toys.

In his “professional life” Mo runs and manages a digital marketing agency and a custom software development company in Dallas, Tx. If you need help with anything tech related, always feel free to use him as a resource. He would prefer to be working with car’s full time though and that is where he can fulfill that dream by being one of the Cars & Chair Board Members.

His current garage includes a 992 GT3, McLaren 765lt Spyder, Lamborghini Urus, and a Tesla Model S.

Mahana Syed

Cars & Chai Toronto, Co-Chair

Driven by building Teams and Communities, Mahana believes it’s the best of ways to finding success collectively.

As the Founder of an Award Winning Applied Arts Institute, Mahana uses her passion for fine things and people daily. With over fifteen years of Business and Management experiences, Mahana has used her entrepreneurial spirit to grow her College globally, with Education Teams in various parts of the world.

As a Mother of two Daughters, Mahana believes in teaching her children to live life full of energy, optimism and prosperity. It’s never too early to start striving for your dreams, and never too late to achieve them. Success afterall is to inspire others to grow and prosper from which we can leave this world greater than how we found it.

The travel enthusiast in Mahana has a long list of places to see around the world, but the destinations she enjoys visiting the most is where she has built a community of people working together.

“And let there be among you [a] people inviting to the good [and] enjoining the right, and forbidding from the wrong, and those – they (are) the successful ones.”

As a Co-Chair of the Cars & Chai Toronto chapter, Mahana supports the thought that the greatest success is in cooperation and by forming a group or community, one which there is help for each other to grow and achieve mutual success. A community where there’s common goals to do better, be better and live better.

Mahana ultimately shares a passion with the C&C community, one of philanthropy and finer things in life, such as automobiles.
